Question by : A friend of mine was diagnosed today as suffering from Irritable Bowel Syndrome. He was told not to smoke or d?
He was told not to smoke. Not to drink Alcohol. Not to drink Coffee, Tea, Chocolate, Cola, Milk. Not to consume any Milk related products including cheese. Not to eat fried or greasy food. Not to eat spicey foods. Not to eat high fibre foods. He’s enjoyed all of these things for years though so to suddenly have to stop all this is is a shock. He was told to eat foods in high protein such as Cottage Cheese, baked potatos, cooked cerals and rice, pasta, white toast, bananas and peanut butter.Drink 8 to 12 glassesof water every day. My question is this. Has anyone ever experienced Irritable Bowel Syndrome or known someone who has and if so could they tell me what other things my friend could eat and drink besides those that he’s already been told. Many thanks in anticipation and from my friend as well because he is feeling so down and miserable.
